This is a sort of treasure hunt using GPS coordinates to find the cache. There are several types of cache; micro, usually a film container that just holds the log book, larger caches that contain items to swap, virtual caches where you have to have proof you were there, either a photo or other evidence that the cache owner specifies, multi caches where you have several clues before finding the final cache and many other variations of these.
Some of the caches contain travel bugs (TB for short). These can travel around the world or in certain areas depending on the owner’s requests. Geocoins are similar to travel bugs. Some of these travel bugs remain in a single cache and you record the number on them.
Geocaching has taken me to local places that I didn’t know existed. Bossbob, my husband sometimes comes caching with me.
